ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – Randolph-Macon men's lacrosse outscored St. Mary's (Md.) 11-5 in the final three quarters to push them to a 13-9 win, moving their record to 3-0 on the year.

How it Happened:
- SMCM got on the board first with a goal just over three minutes into the contest. Seven minutes later, Avery Tankersley (Baltimore, Md./Boys Latin) netted his fourth goal of the year. That was immediately followed by a Seahawk goal to make the score 2-1. RMC answered with a Tyler Dyson (Culpeper, Va./Liberty) goal before SMCM regained the lead on the ensuing possession. With 1:21 remaining in the first, St. Mary's doubled their lead at 4-2 through 15 minutes.
- Cooper Hauser (Charlottesville, Va./Monticello) and Austin Payne (Charlottesville, Va./Western Albemarle) both scored goals to begin the second frame to tie the score at four. Payne scored again to give RMC their first lead of the game, followed by Tankersley's second of the contest to make it 6-4. The Seahawks tallied a goal with just under four minutes to go in the half, but RMC went into the locker room with a 6-5 lead.
- The Seahawks knotted the score at six out of the halftime break but Avery Tankersley completed his hat trick to give the Yellow Jackets the lead 7-6. Two minutes later, Tankersley struck again for goal number four and pushed the lead to two. JT Harvey (Ruther Glen, Va./Riverbend) scored his second goal of the year before SMCM responded five minutes later to make the score 9-7 which it remained for the rest of the quarter.
- Harvey picked up right where he left off to begin the fourth, netting his second of the gamne. The next RMC goal came from none other than Avery Tankersley for his fifth score of the afternoon. After Ryan Pritchard (Crofton, Md./DeMatha) scored, JT Harvey netted another for a hat trick in the second half to make the score 13-7. The Seahawks would score two more times in the final 3:37 but it was not enough as RMC won 13-9.
Inside the Numbers:
- Avery Tankersley scored a career-high five goals in the game. He becomes the second RMC player this season with five goals in a game.
- JT Harvey notched the first hat trick of his career. He shot 100% on the game, scoring all three goals on just three shots.
- After the first quarter, RMC outscored the Seahawks 11-5, including 4-1 in the second frame.
- Mike Allen (Williamsburg, Va./Jamestown) continued his strong start to the year with six ground balls and three caused turnovers.
- Brodie Kent (Coquitlam, Canada/Centennial) led the Yellow Jackets with eight ground balls and also had two caused turnovers.
- Matthew Sutty (Hockessin, Del./Salesianum) had three assists in the game.
