How it Happened
- It took just 1:14 of game time for the Yellow Jackets to get on the board, as Alaina McCoy (Fredericksburg, Va./Stafford) got a second chance off a penalty corner to open the scoring. Valentina Ambrogi-Torres (Richmond, Va./Trinity Episcopal School) made four saves before a second goal for RMC was scored. The Yellow Jackets converted another penalty corner, this time with Anna Scheir (Fallston, Md./Fallston) scoring off a one-time pass by Ashlyn White (Frederick, Md./Urbana). RMC had a 2-0 lead after 15 minutes.
- The offense slowed down at the beginning of the second frame, as there was just one shot in the first six minutes. Janne Roelink (Den Helder, Netherlands/Norfolk Collegiate School) scored to put RMC up 3-0 and the Yellow Jackets had two more shots on goal for the remainder of the quarter, but it stayed 3-0 into halftime.
- Both teams had their fair share of chances in the third quarter, but once again, it was RMC who lit up the scoreboard. Mackenzie Wunderlich (Midlothian, Va./Trinity Episcopal) cashed in off a pass from Isabella McNulty (Midlothian, Va./Midlothian) to extend the lead to 4-0. RMC held onto that lead for the rest of the game, earning the conference win.
