ASHLAND, Va. – Randolph-Macon head softball coach
Kevin Proffitt '86 has announced the hiring of Hannah Segur as an assistant coach.
"We're very excited to have Hannah Segur join our RMC Softball Family!, Proffitt said, "As coaches, we are always striving to continue to get better, personally and as a program as Hannah will contribute to that mindset. After speaking to her past colleagues, it became very evident that she has been an integral part of their teams."
Segur comes to Ashland after being involved in several corporate gyms as a personal trainer, involved in management of clients and interning at The State University of New York Plattsburgh in sports nutrition all from 2021 to 2023. She also is working towards a CSCS certification by summer of 2024, in hopes to gain experience in the strength and conditioning field as along with her knowledge in sports nutrition.
She most recently worked at Orangetheory Fitness in Wilmington, North Carolina as a Senior Associate in 2023. Her duties included marketing and working with other levels of management to keep a professional organizational strategy model in order. Segur also was in charge of the companies social media brand on all platforms to encourage new members to join Orangetheory. She also has experience working in Jim's Gym in Elmira, New York as a Personal Training Consultant in 2022. Segur worked and learned with personal trainers, in order to gain more knowledge in the line of work and to work with them to find potential clients.
"Her playing and coaching experience, along with her extensive background in strength and conditioning/sports nutrition will be a welcome addition to our program," Proffitt added, "The common characteristics that continued to surface during our conversations were leadership, responsibility, and work ethic. Hannah is anxious to learn and has hit the ground running. She'll be a great representative of Randolph-Macon and our softball program. We're excited to get started and for our players to be able to benefit from Hannah's hard work and passion for the game."
During her time at SUNY Plattsburgh, Segur worked as an intern at Fuel2Win in Big Flats, New York. Her duties included social media and marketing posts, using her knowledge of sports nutrition to help guide current and prospective clients on ways to keep a healthy lifestyle.
Segur has vast knowledge in the travel softball world, being a part of many different teams as a player and a coach. She has seen every level of travel softball and helped her high school's team as an assistant coach.
Segur earned a bachelor's degree in sports nutrition from SUNY Plattsburgh in 2022. She returned to Plattsburgh to receive her master's in fitness and wellness leadership in 2023.
