Box Score 2 GREENSBORO, N.C. – The 12th – ranked Randolph-Macon softball team played a double header at Guilford on Saturday afternoon. The Yellow Jackets continued their great stretch of pitching in a sweep over the Quakers with one series left to play in the season.

How it Happened (Game 1):
- The Yellow Jackets offense jumped on the board early, opening the game with three straight hits leading to a Rilee Baughan (Warsaw, Va./Rappahannock) two-RBI single. Olivia Owens (Salisbury, Md./James M. Bennett) hit a one-out double and Jessica Pittman (Virginia Beach, Va./Kempsville) continued her strong hitting with an RBI single to make it 3-0 after the top of the first.
- RMC got three hits in the third inning, with the last being an RBI single by Olivia Owens to extend the RMC lead to 4-0 after three innings of play.
- Guilford got two runners on in the sixth with a chance to cut into the Yellow Jackets lead, but Gracie Ellis (New Kent, Va./New Kent) stranded the two runners and finished her shutout to give RMC the 4-0 win in game one.
By the Numbers (Game 1):
- Gracie Ellis pitched a complete game shutout, throwing seven innings allowing no runs. She allowed just six hits and struck out eight in her fourth consecutive start allowing zero earned runs.
- Olivia Owens notched three hits in four at-bats, one of which was a double. She plated a run in the third inning.
- The top three hitters in the RMC batting order combined to go 6-11 at the plate with three runs scored and two RBI.
- Amanda Lanyon (Midlothian, Va./Midlothian) was the table-setter, going 2-4 at the plate with a double, two stolen bases, and a run scored.
- Naomi Sadler (Emporia, Va./Brunswick) had a similar day in the two-hole, going 2-4 with two stolen bases and a run scored.
- Rilee Baughan was 2-3 at the plate with two RBI, a walk, and a run scored, driving in both of the first two runs of the game.
How it Happened (Game 2):
- Amanda Lanyon led off the game with a single and was moved over to third. She was driven in on a sacrifice fly by Rilee Baughan to give RMC a 1-0 lead in the first. Guilford answered back with nearly the exact same bottom of the first, scoring on a sacrifice fly to tie it at one.
- Guilford was able to take the lead for the first time all day with a home run in the fifth inning to take a 2-1 advantage.
- Kayla Davis (Powhatan, Va./Powhatan) led off the sixth inning with a blast that tied the game, and she was followed by an Olivia Owens double and a Jessica Pittman RBI single to take the lead 3-2 over the Quakers.
- Guilford answered again in the bottom of the sixth, tying the score again at three. Rilee Baughan hit the game-winning home run with two outs in the top of the seventh to give RMC a pivotal win and sweep over the Quakers.
By the Numbers (Game 2):
- Rilee Baughan threw five strong innings in the circle, allowing just two runs on six hits to keep RMC in the game. She went 2-3 at the plate including a double and the go-ahead homer in the top of the seventh to win it.
- Kayla Davis blasted a home run in the sixth inning that tied the game up for the Yellow Jackets at two.
- Jessica Pittman followed up her great hitting in game one to go 2-3 with an RBI in game two.
