Box Score 2 FERRUM, Va. – The 12th – ranked Randolph-Macon softball team hit the road for a midweek showdown with Ferrum College on Tuesday afternoon. The Yellow Jackets were paced by a perfect game by Gracie Ellis in game one to earn a sweep in the double header over the Panthers.

How it Happened (Game 1):
- The Yellow Jackets struck first in the second inning as Gracie Ellis (New Kent, Va./New Kent) led off the inning with a single and was later driven in with a two-out double by Cameron Hildebrand (Fincastle, Va./James River) to make it 1-0.
- Naomi Sadler (Emporia, Va./Brunswick) led off the third inning with a double. After a wild pitch to move her over to third, Rilee Baughan (Warsaw, Va./Rappahannock) drove in the run with a sacrifice fly to extend the lead to two.
- RMC got the bases loaded in the top of the sixth and Rilee Baughan cashed in with two outs, driving in a pair of runs with a single to right field. She was followed by another two-out RBI single by Kayla Davis (Powhatan, Va./Powhatan) to make the lead 5-0. Olivia Owens (Salisbury, Md./James M. Bennett) kept the inning rolling with an RBI single of her own, all with two outs.
- The Yellow Jackets got back-to-back doubles to lead off the seventh by Kiley Lamberth (Mechanicsville, Va./Mechanicsville) and Jessica Pittman (Virginia Beach, Va./Kempsville). Cam Hildebrand scored one with a single, but Pittman was thrown out at the plate to keep the lead at 7-0. Reagan Hill (Hanover, Va./Hanover) singled home the eighth run of the contest before Ferrum got out of the inning.
- Gracie Ellis completed yet another masterpiece, going 1-2-3 in the seventh inning to finish off a perfect game.
By the Numbers (Game 1):
- Gracie Ellis tossed a perfect game for her third no-hit outing of the season and second straight start allowing zero hits. Ellis struck out 12 while not allowing a baserunner over seven frames. She moves to 13-4 on the season in the circle.
- Ellis also went 2-4 at the plate with a run scored.
- Cam Hildebrand had a great game at the plate, going a perfect 4-4 with two runs scored and two runs driven in.
- The bottom of the order provided a lot of offense for the Yellow Jackets as Jessica Pittman joined Hildebrand as the 8-9 hitters, going 3-4 at the plate with a double and a run scored.
- Rilee Baughan was productive at the dish as well, driving in three runs and scoring one in a 2-3 day.
How it Happened (Game 2):
- Amanda Lanyon (Midlothian, Va./Midlothian) led off the game with a bunt single. She stole second and eventually scored on a wild pitch to begin the scoring for RMC. They weren't done, however, as Rilee Baughan roped a double and was singled home by Kayla Davis with one out to make it a 2-0 lead after one.
- Baughan and Davis repeated their first inning success to lead off the third, as Baughan doubled and Davis singled. Baughan scored on an error to make it 3-0. Ellie Herndon (Midlothian, Va./Midlothian) tacked on another run with a two-out RBI single, making the score 4-0 after the top of the third.
- Cam Hildebrand came through with her sixth hit of the day, picking up an RBI on a single in the fifth to extend the lead to 5-0. The Yellow Jackets had the bases loaded but couldn't score any more runs.
- Rilee Baughan went unscathed in the circle, with the only sign of trouble being snuffed out as Baughan stranded two Panthers baserunners in the fifth inning.
- Sarah Wilsey (Alexandria, Va./Hayfield) came on to pinch hit in the sixth and came through with a two-run double to push the lead to 7-0.
- Nothing across for either team through the final inning and a half as Rilee Baughan finished her complete game shutout.
By the Numbers (Game 2):
- Rilee Baughan was stellar in the circle and at the plate, throwing a complete game shutout with seven strikeouts and just three hits allowed. She also went 4-5 at the plate with two doubles and two runs scored, fueling the offensive efforts.
- Kayla Davis had a great 3-5 game at the dish. All three hits were singles as she drove in a run and scored a run.
- Cam Hildebrand continued her hot hitting from game one by going 2-3 with a double and an RBI in game two. Overall, she finished 6-7 on the day with two runs, three RBI, and a double.
- Amanda Lanyon went 2-4 in the game with a run scored a stolen base.
- Sarah Wilsey made the most of her pinch hit appearance in the sixth inning, getting her first hit of the season in the form of a two-run double that extended the lead for RMC.
