Box Score ASHLAND, Va. – The Randolph-Macon men's lacrosse team hosted the reigning ODAC champion Lynchburg for a Saturday afternoon matchup in Ashland. The Yellow Jackets had a stellar defensive effort to down the eighth-ranked Hornets 13-9.

How It Happened

RMC tallied the first goal of the afternoon, thanks to Cameron Foti (Annandale, Va./Annandale) to put the Yellow Jackets up 1-0. Lynchburg would score the ensuing four goals to take a 4-1 lead with just under three minutes to play in the first. Ethan Robinette (Charlotte, N.C./Providence Day) got one back to cut the lead to two with 11 seconds left in the opening frame.

The Yellow Jackets flipped the game around in the second, sandwiching a Hornets goal with two goals on either side. Cameron Foti scored his second of the game to begin the quarter, and then Duncan O'Brien (Virginia Beach, Va./Frank W. Cox) tied it 4-4 just five minutes later. LYN added a goal to re-take the lead, but RMC stormed back with two more goals, beginning with Foti's hat trick goal and ending with Ethan Robinette's second of the game to take a 6-5 lead to halftime.

RMC kept piling on the goals in the third, as Ethan Robinette netted his hat trick goal to open the half, and four others following behind including a man up goal by Logan Sinsebox (Monkton, Md./Hereford) that helped RMC push out to a 11-5 lead. After a nearly 22 minute scoring drought, Lynchburg got back on the board with 14 seconds left in the quarter to cut the lead to five.

The two teams traded goals in the fourth quarter, as stellar defense and goaltending by Owen Gucwa (Raleigh, N.C./Cardinal Gibbons) kept the Hornets from coming back, as RMC finished out the win, 13-9.
