Box Score 2 ASHLAND, Va. – The Randolph-Macon softball team continued their home stand with a double dip against Muhlenburg on Saturday afternoon in Ashland. RMC cruised through with two wins, both in 6-0 fashion over the Mules.

How it Happened (Game 1):
- RMC got on the board in a hurry, as Amanda Lanyon (Midlothian, Va./Midlothian) singled and stole second, and was followed by Naomi Sadler (Emporia, Va./Brunswick) driving her in with a single of her own.
- Gracie Ellis (New Kent, Va./New Kent) faced the minimum through three innings before RMC struck again after five straight singles led to two runs being driven in by Ellis and Olivia Owens (Salisbury, Md./James M. Bennett). RMC had a chance for more, but stranded the bases loaded, keeping the lead at 3-0.
- Muhlenburg got their first hit of the game in the fourth inning, getting a runner to third with no outs, but Ellis pitched out of it to keep the Mules scoreless.
- Rilee Baughan (Warsaw, Va./Rappahannock) had the dagger with a three-run homer in the bottom of the fourth to push the lead to 6-0.
- Ellis continued the gem the rest of the way, allowing just one more hit in the final three innings to pick up the shutout.
By the Numbers (Game 1):
- Gracie Ellis finished with a complete game shutout with just two hits allowed and 11 strikeouts. She also helped herself out at the plate, going 2-4 with an RBI.
- Rilee Baughan had the big hit that sealed it for RMC, a three-run blast in the fourth. She finished with two hits in the game.
- Amanda Lanyon and Ellie Herndon (Midlothian, Va./Midlothian) both had two hits in the contest, while both also had a double to their credit.
- Lanyon and Sadler both stole a base. Sadler leads the team with eight swipes this season while Lanyon is second with four.
How it Happened (Game 2):
- Rilee Baughan allowed a hit in the first but struck out three in the inning to set the tone for RMC in the circle.
- The Yellow Jackets opened the scoring with two runs in the second inning. Natalie Robinson (Woodbridge, Va./Forest Park) doubled in a run and Ellie Barton (Powhatan, Va./Powhatan), the ensuing batter, singled home Robinson for RMC to break open a 2-0 lead.
- Baughan doubled in the third, putting her and Naomi Sadler in scoring position. Olivia Owens drove in Sadler with a sac fly to extend the lead to 3-0.
- As Baughan kept rolling in the circle, Kayla Davis (Powhatan, Va./Powhatan) added two more runs with a home run to left center as RMC held a 5-0 lead after five innings of play.
- The Yellow Jackets tacked on one more run in the sixth as Kiley Lamberth (Mechanicsville, Va./Mechanicsville) singled and eventually came around to score.
- Baughan finished her complete game shutout for her to pick up another win on the year.
By the Numbers (Game 2):
- Rilee Baughan was once again, dominant. Her final stat line was similar to Ellis' in game one. She pitched a complete game shutout with three hits allowed and 11 strikeouts.
- Kayla Davis homered in the fifth for her second of the year, picking up two RBI in the game.
- In addition to her great game in the circle, Baughan was also the only Yellow Jacket to pick up two hits in the game, both being doubles.
- Ellie Barton finished the game 1-3 with two RBI and a stolen base.
