Box Score ASHLAND, Va. – The Randolph-Macon men's volleyball team hosted their second match in as many days, this time against 13th-ranked Mount Union. The Yellow Jackets continued their successful weekend by sweeping the Purple Raiders to move to 8-5 on the year.

How it Happened:
- RMC opened the match with a vengeance, opening an 8-1 lead and later extending the lead to 12-3. Mount Union stormed back with a 7-2 run of their own to narrow the deficit, but Jarrett Carrano (Beaverdam, Va./Patrick Henry) stopped the run with a kill to ignite the Yellow Jackets who led the rest of the set, winning set one, 25-20.
- The second set was tightly contested, with the lead changing hands multiple times. Eventually, the Purple Raiders built a 22-19 lead with a lot of momentum, but Kolby Gibson (Bumpass, Va./Louisa) had other plans, sparking a 6-0 run for RMC to end the set, taking it 25-22.
- Set three went back into RMC's favor, as they opened the set on an 11-6 run to seize momentum. The lead stayed that way for a bit, until Mount Union cut the lead to 22-20 and proceeded to go on a 4-1 run bringing it to set point. Jarrett Carrano picked up a kill to even the score, then two straight service aces by Kolby Gibson completed the 3-0 run and the match sweep for the Yellow Jackets
By the Numbers:
- Aces were the theme for RMC in the match, totaling 13 including the final two to clinch the match. Kody Rogan (Chesapeake, Va./Hickory) had seven aces to go along with his 32 assists in the match to add to his team lead.
- Ian Wagenhauser (Glen Allen, Va./Deep Run) led the Yellow Jackets in kills with 13, bringing his total to 35 in the six sets this weekend.
- Gibson finished with nine kills and Carrano finished with eight to round out the team leaders for Randolph-Macon.
- This is the second win against a ranked team for the Yellow Jackets this year. The first came against Southern Virginia on Feb. 4.
