ASHLAND, Va. – Randolph-Macon sophomore DH Hunter Cole (Norfolk, Va./Granby) was named All-America Fifth Team by D3baseball.com and All-Region Second Team by the ABCA.
Earlier, Cole was selected All-Region Second Team by D3baseball.com and All-ODAC First Team.
Cole started all 38 games for the Yellow Jackets this season. He led the ODAC with a batting average of .424. Over the final 13 games of the season, Cole went 24 for 50 at the plate for an average of .480. Cole was second in the league with a slugging percentage of .728 and second with an on-base percentage of .508. He hit .512 with runners on base and .464 with runners in scoring position. Cole had 64 hits with nine doubles, five triples and nine home runs. He scored 42 runs and knocked in 46. Cole led the team with 19 multi-hit games and 13 multiple RBI contests.
Randolph-Macon was 26-12 overall and went 14-6 in ODAC play, finishing third in the conference standings. The Yellow Jackets had a team batting average of .344, first in the ODAC and seventh in the nation. R-MC is seventh in the country with 2.68 doubles per game and 10th with a team slugging percentage of .531.
