Box Score ASHLAND, Va. – Senior Spencer Pietruszynski (Williamsburg, Va./Jamestown) and sophomore Hunter Cole (Norfolk, Va./Granby) both had three hits, three runs and one RBI as the Randolph-Macon baseball team outscored North Carolina Wesleyan 16-6 on Tuesday afternoon.

How It Happened:
- The Yellow Jackets would start the scoring in the bottom of the first. Pietruszynski reached on an error and scored on a triple by Cole to make it 1-0. Cole came home on a groundout by sophomore Myles Webb (Norfolk, Va./Granby) as the advantage grew to 2-0.
- After the Battling Bishops tallied one in the second, R-MC responded in the third. Junior Ethan Iannuzzi (Chesterfield, Va./Cosby) and Webb started the inning with walks and moved up on a wild pitch. A groundout by junior Brooks Mazey (Glen Allen, Va./Deep Run) drove in Iannuzzi and Webb scored when freshman Aaron Lautenschlager (Purcellville, Va./Loudoun Valley) reached on an error to make it 4-1. Lautenschlager came home on a wild pitch as the lead expanded to 5-1.
- NCWC erupted for five in the top of the sixth to go up 6-5 before the Yellow Jackets reclaimed the lead in the bottom of the frame. Pietruszynski and Cole had consecutive singles and Iannuzzi moved them up with a sacrifice. A base hit by Webb plated Pietruszynski to tie the game. Cole scored on a wild pitch to put the home team up 7-6.
- The Yellow Jackets put the game away with nine in the eighth. R-MC had 11 consecutive hitters reach safely. Lautenschlager and junior Logan Smith (Midlothian, Va./Midlothian) both had two hits in the inning. The big blow was a bases-clearing double by junior Blake Doggett (Richmond, Va./Hanover).

- Senior Matt Coutts (Virginia Beach, Va./First Colonial) retied the final batter in the sixth and picked up the win to improve his record to 2-0.
- Sophomore Cole Stamm (Irvington, Va./Middlesex) fanned three of the five batters he faced.
- Junior Patrick Driggers (Carrollton, Va./Home School) struck out the final batter of the game.
