Box Score (SALEM, Va.) – The Randolph-Macon softball team will play on Sunday of the ODAC Tournament as it defeated Bridgewater in an elimination game on Saturday. The second-seeded Yellow Jackets were supposed to take on top-seeded Lynchburg in another elimination game, but inclement weather has postponed further games until Sunday.

How It Happened (Game 1 vs. Bridgewater)
- For the second day in a row the Yellow Jackets opened the game by scoring early. Amanda Lanyon (Fr., Midlothian, Va. / Midlothian) led off the frame by reaching on an error and made the Eagles pay for it later as she scored on a ground out by Kayla Davis (Fr., Powhatan, Va. / Powhatan).
- The Lemon and Black did the most damage in the bottom of the third with a four-run inning. Rilee Baughan (Jr., Warsaw, Va. / Rappahannock) jumped into the ODAC RBI lead with a pair of runs hit in on a double to left center that scored Lanyon again and Naomi Sadler (Fr., Emporia, Va. / Brunswick).
- Three batters later Cameron Hildebrand (Jr., Fincastle, Va. / James River) came in to pinch run and was able to score from second on an infield throwing error to make it 4-0.
- Two batters later starting pitcher Gracie Ellis (Fr., New Kent, Va. / New Kent) helped her own cause with an RBI single up the middle to score Olivia Owens (So., Salisbury, Md. / James M. Bennett).
- Bridgewater broke up the shutout with a run in the fourth as Sarah Wimer hit a sacrifice fly to center to score Brooklynn Fridley. The Eagles added a second when Fridley singled up the middle to score Torie Shifflett in the sixth, but R-MC was able to stop the comeback attempt there.
Inside The Numbers (Game 1 vs. Bridgewater)
- Ellis picked up the victory to improve to 19-4 on the season. The freshman ace went the distance and allowed the two runs on just four hits and struck out four to surpass 200 on the season.
- Lanyon continued her incredible tournament run going 2-for-4 to give her three consecutive multiple hit games to start the tournament. Through three games she is 7-for-12 with five runs scored.
- Sadler is right there with her on the same three-game streak and is 7-for-11 with three runs scored.
- Baughan's two RBIs give her 50 for the season which leads the ODAC as of this writing.
