Men's Lacrosse Hosts Ferrum For Home Finale

(ASHLAND, Va.) – The final home game of the men's lacrosse regular season will pit Randolph-Macon against Ferrum on Wednesday afternoon. Both the Yellow Jackets and Panthers are looking to get back on track after falling in defeat in their last game.

The Yellow Jackets allowed just one goal over the last three quarters after they jumped out to an early lead to score an early season ODAC victory against the Panthers. Jack Smith (So., Stevensville, Md. / DeMatha) led a dozen R-MC scorers with four goals, while Andrew Tiffey (Sr., Columbia, Md. / Wilde Lake) led the team with six points on two goals and four assists. JD Spotts (So., Richmond, Va. / Collegiate) went 18-for-25 on face-offs and picked up 10 ground balls to lead the Jackets.

Brandon Smith (Sr., Richmond, Va. / Douglas Freeman) led the Jackets with three goals, but it wasn't enough as the Hornets' high-powered offense was able to keep possession most of the game. Sam Averna (XXX) picked up seven ground balls and made 11 saves. Scott Ruelle (Sr., Clifton, Va. / Centreville) added six GBs.

Ferrum 2, No. 20 Washington & Lee 31 – Saturday, April 16, at Washington & Lee

The Panthers and Generals split the opening two goals, but the hosts proceeded to go on a big run to take command of the game. Adam Brooks scored the Panthers' first while Patrick Martinek provided the second on a man-up opportunity to start the second half.
