Box Score 2 ASHLAND, Va. – Senior Spencer Pietruszynski (Williamsburg, Va./Jamestown) had five hits, five runs and four RBI as the Randolph-Macon baseball team split an ODAC doubleheader with Eastern Mennonite on Saturday afternoon on Senior Day.

How It Happened – Game 2:
- After the Royals put up two in the top of the first, the Yellow Jackets answered in the bottom of the frame. Sophomore Matt Myers (Hampstead, Md./Manchester Valley) had a leadoff double and scored on a base hit by sophomore Hunter Cole (Norfolk, Va./Granby). Cole moved to third on a double by sophomore Myles Webb (Norfolk, Va./Granby). Pietruszynski delivered a two-run double to put R-MC on top for good at 3-2. Pietruszynski scored on a single by junior Carter Johnson (Southampton, Va./Southampton) as the Yellow Jackets went up 4-2.
- EMU pulled within one in the top of the third before R-MC took control in the bottom of the third. Webb had a leadoff single and went to third on a double by Pietruszynski. Both scored on a single by Johnson. Myers added a two-run single and Cole capped the seven-run outburst with a two-run homer to give R-MC an 11-3 lead.
- Junior Logan Smith (Midlothian, Va./Midlothian) belted a two-run homer in the fourth, his first career dinger, as the advantage grew to 10 at 13-3.
- The Yellow Jackets added two in the fifth and one in the sixth to lead 16-3. EMU tallied one in the seventh and four in the eighth to make the final 16-8.
By The Numbers
- Cole went 3 for 5 with three runs and four RBI. He was a triple short of the cycle.
- Johnson had three hits and three RBI. He extended his hit streak to 22 games, tying the program record. Hall-of-Famer Jack Walker hit in 22 straight games in 1985.
- Pietruszynski had two hits, both doubles, three runs and three RBI.
- Myers was 3 for 5 with two runs and two RBI.
- Webb and Mazey both had two hits and two runs.
- Junior Hayden Snelsire (Berlin, Md./Stephen Decatur) went 7.0 innings with eight hits, four runs, no walks and six strikeouts to raise his record to 5-2.
- Senior Matt Coutts (Virginia Beach, Va./First Colonial) recorded three outs in the eighth and senior Jacob Smither (Mechanicsville, Va./Atlee) worked a hitless ninth with one strikeout to secure the win.
How It Happened – Game 1:
- After the Royals were held scoreless in the first, the Yellow Jackets scored in the bottom of the first. Cole drew a two-out walk and scored on a homer by Webb. Pietruszynski went deep as well as R-MC took a 3-0 lead.
- EMU tied it with two in the second and one in the third. In the bottom of the third, Pietruszynski had a two-out single and scored on a double by Johnson as R-MC reclaimed the lead at 4-3.
- The Royals scored six in the fourth, two in the fifth and one in the sixth to go up 12-4. Webb had an RBI single and scored in a four-run sixth as the Yellow Jackets cut the deficit in half at 12-8. EMU put up five in the ninth to record the 17-8 win.
