Box Score 2 HARRISONBURG, Va. – Freshman Amanda Lanyon (Midlothian, Va./Midlothian) had four hits and four RBI in the nightcap as the eighth-ranked Randolph-Macon softball team split an ODAC doubleheader at Eastern Mennonite on Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened: Game 1
- After two scoreless innings, the Yellow Jackets started the scoring in the third. Freshman Ellie Barton (Powhatan, Va./Powhatan) had a leadoff single and was out at second on a fielder's choice by Lanyon. Lanyon stole second and scored on a double by junior Rilee Baughan (Warsaw, Va./Rappahannock) to make it 1-0.
- The Royals scored five unearned runs in the bottom of the third before R-MC responded in the fourth. Sophomore Olivia Owens (Salisbury, Md./James M. Bennett) had a leadoff walk and scored on a base hit by Sierra Livingston. Lanyon added a sacrifice fly to take it 5-3.
- EMU added an insurance run in the sixth before an R-MC rally in the seventh. Senior Sami Davidson (Stafford, Va./Brooke Point) delivered a two-run single to make it a one-run game, but was stranded at second as the game ended.
By The Numbers
- Davidson had two hits and two RBI.
- Junior Natalie Robinson (Woodbridge, Va./Forest Park), freshman Gracie Ellis (New Kent, Va./New Kent) and freshman Naomi Sadler (Emporia, Va./Brunswick) each had two hits.
- Ellis worked 6.0 innings with six hits, one earned run, no walks and eight strikeouts. She had an Immaculate Inning in the first, striking out the side on nine pitches.
How It Happened: Game 2
- In the top of the first in the nightcap, Lanyon doubled and Baughan belted a homer to center to give R-MC a 2-0 edge.
- EMU took the lead with three in the third before the Yellow Jackets responded in the fourth. Lanyon launched a three-run homer to left as R-MC reclaimed the lead at 5-3.
- The Royals scored two in the fourth and one in the fifth to go up 6-5 before the visitors rallied in the seventh. Owens had a one-out single and moved to second on a base hit by Robinson. Davidson singled to bring home Owens with the tying run. Lanyon's two-out base hit plated pinch-runner Maddie Bates as R-MC took a 7-6 lead.
- EMU put its first two runners on in the bottom of the seventh. After they were sacrificed to second and third, Baughan got a strikeout and pop out to end the contest.

- Lanyon went 4 for 5 with two runs and four RBI.
- Davidson went 3 for 4 with one run and one RBI.
- Baughan had two hits and two RBI. She earned the win and improved to 11-3.
