(ASHLAND, Va.) – It's Senior Day for the Randolph-Macon men's lacrosse team and there's nothing more the Yellow Jackets would like than to get a win against rival Hampden-Sydney. The Lemon and Black will look to do just that as they host the Tigers for the first time since 2018.

Both teams were even after the first four goals and the Jackets trailed just 4-3 heading into the half, but the Tigers used a second half 9-0 to take control of the game. Jack Averna (Warrenton, Va. / Fauquier) led the Yellow Jackets with two goals.

Jack Averna had another big game with 10 points on six goals and four assists to lead the Yellow Jackets to a hard-fought victory over the Hornets. JD Spotts (So., Richmond, Va. / Collegiate) was strong on face-offs and won 18-of-31 with 11 ground balls. The game was close throughout with neither team holding a lead of more than three goals.
Hampden-Sydney 24, Virginia Wesleyan 7 – Wednesday, April 13, at Hampden-Sydney
The Tigers faced little trouble from the Marlins as they jumped out to a 4-0 lead early and led 9-1 after one quarter. Sean Duffy led H-SC with five goals and two assists for seven points. Bobby Clagett added five.
