Box Score ASHLAND, Va. – Sophomore Hunter Cole (Norfolk, Va./Granby) had four hits and four RBI, and junior pitcher Cam Furman (Midlothian, Va./Midlothian) tossed four scoreless innings as the Randolph-Macon baseball team posted an 8-2 victory over Messiah on Friday afternoon.

How It Happened:
- The Yellow Jackets would get on the scoreboard in the bottom of the first. Cole had a one-out triple and scored on a groundout by junior Ethan Iannuzzi (Chesterfield, Va./Cosby) to give R-MC a 1-0 lead.
- R-MC added to its lead in the fifth as junior Logan Smith (Midlothian, Va./Midlothian) had a leadoff single and scored on a two-out single by Cole to make it 2-0.
- In the bottom of the seventh, sophomore Grayson Bush (Charlottesville, Va./Monticello) had a one-out single and moved to second on an error as sophomore Matt Myers (Hampstead, Md./Manchester Valley) reached on the fielder's choice. Bush and Myers both scored on a double by Cole to give R-MC a 4-0 advantage.
- The Falcons cut the deficit in half with two in the top of the eighth before the Yellow Jackets put the game away in the bottom of the frame. Sophomore Trey Pridgen (York, Pa./York Suburban) reached on an error, moved to third on a double by Smith and scored on a wild pitch as the score moved to 5-2. Smith came home on a double by Myers, and Myers scored on a triple by Cole. A wild pitch plated Cole to push the lead to 8-2.

- Furman (1-0) allowed two hits in four innings with no walks and two strikeouts in his first start of the season.
- Sophomore Cole Stamm (Irvington, Va./Middlesex) made his first collegiate appearance and worked two innings with no hits, one walk and five strikeouts.
