Box Score ASHLAND, Va. – Senior Spencer Pietruszynski (Williamsburg, Va./Jamestown) went 2 for 2 with two walks, two runs and one RBI as the Randolph-Macon baseball team dropped a 13-8 decision to Tufts on Sunday afternoon in a matchup of teams receiving votes in the D3baseball.com national poll.

How It Happened:
- The Jumbos put up a run in the first and four in the third before the Yellow Jackets started their scoring in the bottom of the third. Senior Grant Williams (Vienna, Va./McLean) had a leadoff single and scored on a fielder's choice by junior Ethan Iannuzzi (Chesterfield, Va./Cosby) to make it 5-1.
- Tufts tallied on the top of the fourth and R-MC answered in the bottom of the frame. Pietruszynski drew a leadoff walk and went to second on a base hit by junior Carter Johnson (Southampton, Va./Southampton). Pietruszynski scored on a fielder's choice and Johnson came home on an error. Williams reached on an error and scored on a groundout as the Yellow Jackets pulled within two at 6-4.
- The Jumbos kept the pressure on by plating three in the fifth. In the bottom of the fifth, Iannuzzi had a leadoff single, moved to second on a base lit by Pietruszynski and went to third on a walk to Johnson. Junior Brooks Mazey (Glen Allen, Va./Deep Run) delivered a two-run single as R-MC trailed 9-6.
- Tufts put up another crooked number in the seventh, scoring four to make it 13-6. The Yellow Jackets would complete the scoring in the bottom of the ninth. Iannuzzi reached on catcher's interference and advanced to second on a single by sophomore Myles Webb (Norfolk, Va./Granby). A double by Pietruszynski brought home Iannuzzi and a sacrifice fly by Johnson drove in Webb to make the final 13-8.

- Mazey was the only Yellow Jacket with multiple RBI (2).
- Pietruszynski, Iannuzzi and Williams each scored twice.
- Pietruszynski had nine putouts in right field.
