(ASHLAND, Va.) – Another important ODAC contest awaits Wednesday evening as Randolph-Macon hosts Shenandoah in a matchup between two of the top four teams in the league. With Roanoke's loss yesterday, the Yellow Jackets have an opportunity to take sole possession of second place in the conference.
On the opposite end the Hornets, owners of the longest current win streak in the ODAC at eight games, will be looking to remain within a game of second place in the standings.

The Yellow Jackets opened up the ODAC season with a road win thanks to a balanced offense that shot 47.9% for the night, their third-best number of the season. Catherine Kagey (So., Roanoke, Va. / Faith Christian) was perfect from the field as she went 5-for-5 for 13 points and pulled down 13 rebounds for her first double-double of the season. Aimee DeBell (Sr., Studley, Va. / St. Gertrude), Becca Anthony (Sr., Amelia, Va. / Amelia) and Juliana Park (Fr., Fairfax Station, Va. / Davidson Day) also scored in double figures as the trio combined for 33 more points and shot a combined 13-of-21. The Hornets were led by Olivia Weinel with 14 points and Sierra St. Cyr with 12.

In their third game in four days, the Yellow Jackets narrowly to fell to the Hornets. R-MC received double-doubles from DeBell, who had 16 points and 10 rebounds, and Kagey, who had 13 points and 13 rebounds.
Shenandoah 74, Hood 43 – Monday, Feb. 7, at Hood
The Hornets breezed by Hood and faced little as they raced to a 32-13 lead by halftime. Olivia Weinel, Terese Greene, and Shawnise Campbell all scored 10 points to lead Shenandoah which had 10 additional players find the scoring column. It was the fifth game the Hornets made at least 30 field goals this season.
Inside The Numbers
- Randolph-Macon continues to be one of the best rebounding teams in the nation with a margin of 9.7 more rebounds per game than its opponents. That number tops the ODAC and is No. 24 out of 423 Division III teams.
- Leading the team in rebounds per game is Catherine Kagey who averages 8.7 per contest. That number ranks No. 2 in the ODAC.
- Juliana Park leads the ODAC in 3-point field goal percentage at 38.6%. That mark also ranks No. 34 nationally.
- Cheridan Hatfield (Sr., Fishersville, Va. / Wilson Memorial) is fifth in the ODAC in assist turnover ratio at 1.29.
- Ragan Johnson leads Shenandoah and the ODAC with a field goal percentage of 58.7%. She has taken 121 attempts on the season and has made 71.
