(ASHLAND, Va.) – Many eyes will be focused on Crenshaw Gymnasium Wednesday as Randolph-Macon hosts Washington & Lee in a battle between the ODAC's top teams in women's basketball. Three teams remain unbeaten in league play, but the Yellow Jackets and Generals both sit at the top of the standings with identical 8-0 conference records.

The Yellow Jackets overcame nine-point halftime deficit at halftime to come back and beat the Generals with a dominate second half. R-MC outscored W&L 22-6 in the final quarter and limited the Generals to just one field goal during that time. Kelly Williams led all scorers with 22 points, and Becca Anthony (Amelia, Va. / Amelia) poured in 16.

The Yellow Jackets led start to finish and shut down the WildCats offense to their second-lowest point total within Division III this season. Juliana Park (Fairfax Station, Va. / Davidson Day) led a balanced Jacket offense with 13 points and three 3-pointers. Cheridan Hatfield (Fishersville, Va. / Wilson Memorial) and Catherine Kagey (Roanoke, Va. / Faith Christian) added 12 and 10, respectively.
Washington & Lee 69, Bridgewater 60 – Thursday, Jan. 20, - at Bridgewater
The Generals used a big second quarter to lead by 18 at halftime en route to their fifth consecutive win. Megan Horn scored 23 points and pulled down eight rebounds while dishing out five assists in the victory. As a result, she was named this week's ODAC Player of the Week.
Inside The Numbers
- This will be the second consecutive week the Yellow Jackets will play the reigning ODAC Player of the Week. Randolph's Kylie Sark.
- Kagey leads the ODAC in rebounds per game with 8.6. She has four double-doubles on the season.
- Park continues to be a threat behind the arc as she has hit 40.0% of her 3-point attempts, the fourth-best in the conference. Park's mark currently ranks No. 36 in the nation. The Generals' Hanna Malik is fifth in the ODAC at 39.8%.
- The Jackets have done well to take care of the ball this season. They have had only 216 turnovers, the fewest in the ODAC. They also lead the ODAC with a 9.8 rebound margin.
- Hatfield is fifth in the ODAC with a 1.27 assist/turnover ratio.
