(LYNCHBURG, Va.) - The Randolph-Macon women's basketball team will look to remain perfect in the new year as it heads to Randolph on Saturday. The Yellow Jackets have reeled off three-straight wins to open up 2022 and will obtain their first four-game win streak of the season with a win over the WildCats.

Aimee DeBell (Studley, Va. / St. Gertrude) and Becca Anthony (Amelia, Va. / Amelia) both powered their way to double-doubles as the Yellow Jackets took down the WildCats in what ended up being the season finale for R-MC. DeBell finished with 18 points after she went 7-of-13 from the floor. She added 10 rebounds, while Anthony poured in 14 and pulled down 11 caroms. Kylie Stark scored a game-high 21 for the WildCats.

DeBell recorded her first double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Yellow Jackets to a sweep of the Royals in a span of five days. A total of 13 players for the Lemon and Black scored with five others with eight or nine points. R-MC pulled down a season-best 59 rebounds and outrebounded the Royals by 33.
Randolph 48, Washington & Lee 63 – Wednesday, Jan. 19, at Washington & Lee
Cierra Cook scored 16 points and Teniyah Crenshaw added another 15, but it wasn't enough as the WildCats had their four-game win streak snapped by the Generals in a battle between two of the ODAC's best teams. The WildCats jumped out to a nine-point lead after one, but W&L cut the deficit to one before outscoring Randolph 22-8 in the third en route to the win.
Inside The Numbers
- Catherine Kagey (So., Roanoke, Va. / Faith Christian) currently ranks second in the ODAC in rebounds per game with 8.9. She has four double-doubles on the season and averages 11.4 points per game.
- The Yellow-Jackets' rebound margin is an ODAC-best +10.4 per game for the season. That currently ranks No. 20 in the nation.
- Another rebound strength for R-MC is how well the Jackets have been on the offensive end. They have pulled down an average of 16.1 offensive rebounds per game, No. 3 in the ODAC and in the top 50 nationally.
- Juliana Park (Fr., Fairfax Station, Va. / Davidson Day) and Becca Anthony continue to be impressive behind the arc. They rank second and third in the conference in 3-point shooting percentage at 40.4% and 40.0%, respectively.
- As a team, the Yellow Jackets are second in the ODAC and No. 31 nationally with a 33.2% mark on triples.
- Cheridan Hatfield (Sr., Fishersville, Va. / Wilson Memorial) is currently fifth in the ODAC with a 1.24 assist-to-turnover ratio. She has 45 assists this season for an average of 3.8 per game.
