How It Happened (Game 1):
- The game remained scoreless until the bottom of the seventh, and a lot of that had to do with Rhoads who matched her career high 12 strikeouts in her third shutout of the season. She allowed just one hit with three walks.
- Natalie Robinson (So., Woodbridge, Va. / Forest Park) provided the late game heroics in the seventh. With the bases loaded, she singled to left field. Olivia Owens (Fr., Salisbury, Md. / James M. Bennett) scored on the play after she reached safely with a single to center earlier in the inning.
Inside The Numbers (Game 1):
- Rhoads has thrown at least 10 strikeouts in four of her last six games. She has 83 on the season, good for second in the ODAC.
- It's the third game in her last five appearances that Rhoads hasn't allowed an earned run.
- Rilee Baughan (So., Warsaw, Va. / Rappahannock) hammered two of the Jackets' six hits, one of which was a double.
How It Happened (Game 2):
- Following the walk-off hit in the opener, small ball and timely hitting followed for the night cap. All four runs were scored in separate innings starting in the second when Robinson hit a sac fly to right which brought in Shelby Hill (Sr., Mechanicsville, Va. / St. Margaret's). Hill reached on base hit, stole second, and advanced to third on a passed ball to get into scoring position.
- Baughan's big day continued as she brought in the next run. After Maddie Stone (Sr., Glen Allen, Va. / Glen Allen) opened up the third inning with a single to the shortstop, Baughan launched a pitch to right center for a double to bring around Stone.
- The squeeze play provided the Jackets a 3-0 lead in the fourth. Kamryn Steinruck (Sr., Glen Allen, Va. / Glen Allen) laid down a perfect bunt which allowed Bailey Hairfield (Fr., Chesterfield, Va. / Cosby), who was pinch running for Robinson who doubled to open the inning, to score.
- Randolph-Macon made it 4-0 when Owens scored on a single to right by Sami Davidson (Sr., Stafford, Va. / Brooke Point). Owens led off the frame with a single through the left side, stole second and advanced to third on a sac bunt.
