Box Score ASHLAND, Va. – Junior Spencer Pietruszynski (Williamsburg, Va./Jamestown) went 2 for 3 with a double, two runs and one RBI as the No. 12 Randolph-Macon baseball team was outscored 9-7 by Methodist on Thursday afternoon.

How It Happened:
- The Monarchs dominated early, building an 8-0 lead by the middle of the sixth. The Yellow Jackets would break through in the bottom of the sixth. With two away, junior Will Hass (Charlottesville, Va./St. Anne's Belfield) singled up the middle. After he moved to second on a wild pitch, senior Kevin Mooney (Williamsburg, Va./Jamestown) walked. A single to left by junior JT Fitzpatrick (Mechanicsville, Va./Atlee) brought home Hass with R-MC's first run. After freshman Myles Webb (Norfolk, Va./Granby) was plunked to load the bases, sophomore catcher Logan Smith (Midlothian, Va./Midlothian) walked to force in Mooney and make it 8-2.
- MU added one in the top of the seventh before R-MC responded in the bottom of the frame. Pietruszynski had a leadoff single to right center and sophomore Ethan Iannuzzi (Chesterfield, Va./Cosby) dropped a single into left. Senior Mike Nickles (Stafford, Va./Colonial Forge) blasted a homer to right center, his fourth of the season, to make it 9-5.
- The Yellow Jackets scored for the third straight inning in the eighth. Freshman Grayson Bush (Charlottesville, Va./Monticello) drew a two-out walk and scored on a double to left by Pietruszynski to make the score 9-6. After a base hit by Iannuzzi, Pietruszynski came home on a balk to make it 9-7.
- R-MC went down in order in the ninth to make the final 9-7.
By The Numbers
- Haas went 2 for 4 with a walk and a run.
- Iannuzzi had two hits and a run. He extended his hit streak to 13 games, the longest for R-MC this season. Iannuzzi has reached safely in all 20 games in which he has played this season.
- Smith went 1 for 2 with two walks and one RBI. He recorded his first collegiate hit and RBI.
