(ASHLAND, Va.) - Randolph-Macon made short work of Bridgewater in ODAC women's lacrosse action on an unexpectedly damp Saturday afternoon. The Yellow Jackets jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first eight minutes and never looked back en route to the blowout.

Bella Samper (Sr., Spring, Texas / Klein Oak) and Natalie Webster (Sr., Midlothian, Va. / Midlothian) opened up the game on a tear as they evenly split the opening 4-0 goals to take the Eagles by Storm. The first score came just 1:41 into the contest.

Bridgewater was able to answer with the next two goals, but the Jackets went on a tear the rest of the way with the next 10 goals.

Webster started the big run with 17:45 to go in the half. Just 27 seconds later, McKenzie Hynson (Jr., Pasadena, Md. / Northeast) scored her first. It was a sign of things to come as Kendall Griffis (Sr., Cherry Hill, N.J. / Bishop Eustace) found the back of the net 19 seconds later, and Webster scored her fourth 33 seconds after that.

There was a slight break in the action, but Webster resumed the offense with 11:47 to go with her fifth goal of the half.

Things were clearly going the Yellow Jackets' way as Samper closed the half with a goal as the buzzer sounded.

Scoring was tempered in the second half from a running clock, but the Jackets were still able to find the back of the net five times from four different players.

Webster finished a spectacular day with a game-high five goals. Only Samper had more points who finished with four goals and two assists. Hynson joined her with four goals as well.

Kayla Ross (So., Cockeyville, Md. / Dulaney) was flashy with the passing as she dished out three helpers and added two goals for five poitns.

Hynson didn't just get the job done on the offensive end, she did so on defense and in the midfield as well. She picked up a game-high four ground balls and was stellar in the circle with eight draw controls.

Bridgewater was hurt by 21 turnovers, 12 of which were forced by the Jackets. Hynson led in that category with three caused miscues as well.

Caraline Cypher (Jr., Havre de Grace, Md. / Havre de Grace) wasn't called upon too much as R-MC held a 36-9 advantage on shots, but when called upon she made three saves on the day.
It's a quick turnaround for the Jackets as they are back in action again tomorrow. They'll entertain St. Mary's in a rescheduled contest with the opening draw set for 4 p.m.
