(GREENSBORO, N.C.) – In its final ODAC game before the winter break, Randolph-Macon will look remain unbeaten in women's basketball league play as it travels to Guilford on Wednesday. It will be the first meeting between the Yellow Jackets and Quakers since the 2020 ODAC Tournament Championship won by the Lemon and Black.
While the Yellow Jackets lead the overall series, Guilford has had their number most of the time over the last six years. Before the 2019-2020 season, Guilford was on a seven-game win streak, its longest in the series. Despite that, the Jackets were able to take the last two.

The last time these two teams met was a memorable one as the Yellow Jackets captured their 10th ODAC Tournament Championship. Kelly Williams had game highs with 22 points and 15 rebounds. Michal Ross and Becca Anthony (Sr., Amelia, Va. / Amelia) both added 16 points. Lindsay Gauldin led the Quakers with 15 points.
Last Time Out: Randolph-Macon 73, Lynchburg 61 – Saturday, Dec. 4, at Crenshaw Gymnasium
A late surge in the second quarter helped Randolph-Macon go in front of Lynchburg en route to the victory. Cheridan Hatfield (Sr., Fishersville, Va. / Wilson Memorial) sparked a 16-3 run over the last 5:07 with five consecutive points to give the Lemon and Black a 10-point lead at halftime. Catherine Kagey (So., Roanoke, Va. / Faith Christian) led the team with 19 points. Aimee DeBell (Sr., Studley, Va. / Saint Gertrude) had a great all-around game with 11 points, nine rebounds, and six assists. Hatfield did as well with 12 points, four assists, five steals, and four rebounds. Anthony finished with 14 points.
Guilford 61, Washington & Lee 72 – Saturday, Dec. 4, at Washington & Lee
The Quakers and Generals battled it out for the majority of the game, but a third quarter run ended up pushing W&L to the victory. Gauldin ended up scoring 30 points to lead Guilford, but it wasn't enough as a trio of Generals also scored in double figures with Kate Groninger pacing the hosts with 20 points.
Inside The Numbers
- The Yellow Jackets have won their last 11 ODAC games. Including the conference tournament in 2020, they have won their last 16 games against teams currently in the ODAC.
- Juliana Park (Fr., Fairfax Station, Va. / Davidson Day) and Anthony continue to be hot shooters from the outside. Park leads the ODAC and is sixth nationally with a 51.7% clip on 3-point attempts. Anthony is also in the top five in the league at 41.4%.
- Park and Kagey are both making 50% or more of their shots overall from the field. Park has made 50.9% of her overall shots while Kagey is even at 50%. DeBell is right behind them with a 49.3% on field goals.
- On the defensive end, DeBell has been a force with 1.3 blocks per game, third-most in the conference. She's helped the RMC be the second-best blocking team in the ODAc with 3.6 per game.
- As a team the Yellow Jackets are outrebounding the opposition 43.9-36.3. The +7.6 rebound margin per game is second best in the ODAC.
