Box Score ASHLAND, Va. – Junior Peyton Humphreys (Lexington, Ky./Paul Laurence Dunbar) had her first collegiate double-double with career highs of 10 points and 12 rebounds, while senior Becca Arrington (Amelia, Va./Amelia Academy) put up 21 points and junior Cheridan Hatfield (Fishersville, Va./Wilson Memorial) added 17 points as the Randolph-Macon women's basketball team downed St. Mary's (Md.) 67-53 on Saturday afternoon.

How it Happened:
- The Seahawks soared to a quick 4-2 lead before Arrington had a pair of free throws, a three-pointer and a steal that led to a layup by Hatfield as the Yellow Jackets took a 9-6 lead with 7:20 left in the first period. SMCM had a 7-2 run to take a 13-11 advantage after one quarter.
- A layup by Humphreys tied it at 13-13 before the Seahawks scored five straight to go up 18-13 two minutes into the second period. Humphreys had a follow and her three-point play capped a 12-0 spurt as R-MC took a 25-18 lead with 3:45 remaining. SMCM had two straight buckets before a layup by junior Aimee DeBell (Studley, Va./Saint Gertrude) gave the Yellow Jackets a 27-22 lead at intermission. Hatfield had nine first-half points, while Humphreys added seven points with six boards.
- SMCM had a pair of free throws to start the second half to pull within three before a triple by Hatfield capped a 7-0 run as R-MC went up 34-24 two minutes into the third period. The Seahawks pulled within seven at 42-35 before freshman Olivia Murray (Moseley, Va./Manchester) had a pair of layups in a 5-1 spurt as the Yellow Jackets led 47-36 after three quarters.
- Sophomore Devan Conrad (Parkville, Md./St. Paul's School for Girls) had a follow and a free throw by Humphreys pushed the lead to 14 at 50-36 two minutes into the final period. Following a three-pointer by SMCM, Hatfield and Arrington had back-to-back treys to make it 56-39 with six minutes remaining. Arrington had a free throw, a layup and a triple to give R-MC its largest lead of 19 at 64-45 with 2:10 left. The Yellow Jackets would hold on for the 57-53 victory.
By The Numbers:
- R-MC went 15 of 19 from the free throw line for 79%. Arrington went 8 for 10 from the charity stripe.
- The Yellow Jackets had a 49-33 advantage on the boards as well as 17-2 on second-chance points. Along with 12 for Humphreys, Arrington and junior Aimee DeBell (Studley, Va./Saint Gertrude) each pulled down nine.
- DeBell had three blocked shots.
