Box Score KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – Randolph-Macon Men's Volleyball earned a win in the rematch against The Sage Colleges Saturday afternoon. R-MC followed that up with a victory against Hiram.
Game 1 – R-MC defeats Sage 3-1 (28-26, 20-25, 25-11, 25-18)
- In the first game of the day, R-MC was led by sophomore Scotty Carter (Virginia Beach, Va. / Frank W. Cox). Carter downed 11 kills on 24 attacks, hitting .333 for the opening game. He added a block and four digs as well.
- Junior Corban Jungers (Ashland, Va. / J.R. Tucker) collected eight kills while senior Lee Olenyik (Mechanicsville, Va. / Hanover), sophomore Lenny Sampson, Jr. (Chesapeake, Va. / Indian River) and freshman Kolby Gibson (Bumpass, Va. / Louisa) each had seven kills, with Sampson hitting .385 to lead the team.
- Sophomore Connor Logan (Montpelier, Va. / Patrick Henry) had 15 digs, a team high. Freshman Jarrett Carrano (Beaverdam, Va. / Patrick Henry) added eight digs, while Olenyik corralled six. Carrano led the team in assists as well with 20, while freshman James Manning added 16.
- Olenyik led the team at the net with four blocks. Sampson added four as well, including one solo block.
- R-MC fell to Sage earlier this year 3-0 in the first game of the season.
Game 2 – R-MC defeats Hiram 3-1 (25-20, 25-20, 20-25, 25-13)
- Olenyik led the team in the second game of the day. He collected 14 kills, while Carrano finished close behind with 13 kills. Sampson added five kills, as did freshman Sean Cunningham (Virginia Beach, Va.), while Jungers added four. Manning got the last kills R-MC accounted for in the match.
- Logan again led R-MC for digs with 18, while Carrano finished with ten.
- Manning led the team with 30 assists.
- Cunningham collected six blocks, including one solo block. Sampson added five.
Service Aces Were Special
- The Yellow Jackets had a good time serving today. Against Sage, R-MC had ten service aces, led by six by Carrano, which was a new single-game high for the season.
- Olenyik matched it in the second match as R-MC 13 service aces against Hiram. Olenyik still holds the program record for most in a contest with seven against Immaculata last year. Manning and Jungers each added two service aces in the second contest of the day as well.
