Box Score LYNCHBURG, Va.— Sophomore Miles Muncie (Midlothian, Va. / Midlothian) scored two goals as the Randolph-Macon men's lacrosse team fell 16-5 to No. 14 Lynchburg in ODAC action Wednesday evening.
The Yellow Jackets (4-12, 3-5 ODAC) scored once in each of the first three periods before adding two scores in the fourth stanza.
Muncie scored the first goal of the game for the Yellow Jackets (4-12, 3-5 ODAC) before Lynchburg (9-7, 6-2 ODAC), ranked No. 14 in the South Region, leveled the game at 1-1 with 10:41 to play in the first period. Lynchburg held a 6-1 advantage at the end of the period.
Senior Nick Benhoff (Phoenix, Md. / Dulaney) tallied R-MC's second goal on a pass from sophomore Kyle Keepers (Roswell, Ga. / Roswell) with 6:19 remaining in the second period. The Yellow Jackets faced an 11-2 deficit at halftime.
The Hornets scored twice in the third period before junior Sam Mayer (Severna Park, Md. / Severna Park) notched his first goal of the season and the team's third goal of the contest on a man-up situation.
Randolph-Macon scored the last two goals of the game. Freshman Lee Pratt (Winston-Salem, NC / Ronald Reagan) tallied a goal with 4:08 to play. One minute later, Mayer passed to Muncie on a man-up play as the Hornets would claim the conference win.
The Yellow Jackets will conclude the regular season at home against Washington & Lee on Saturday, April 30 at 1 p.m.
