Box Score GUILFORD, NC—Sophomore Miles Muncie (Midlothian, Va. / Midlothian) scored three goals as Guilford edged Randolph-Macon men's lacrosse 9-7 in ODAC action Saturday afternoon.
Senior Ryan Davidson (Logan Township, NJ / Kingsway Regional) chipped in two goals and an assist while junior Tim Leavitt (Davidsonville, Md. / Archbishop Spalding) and sophomore Alex Camilliere (Huntingtown, Md. / Huntingtown) each added one goal for R-MC.
Sophomore Coleman Adams (Mechanicsville, Va. / St. Christopher's) found Leavitt to give the Yellow Jackets (3-10, 2-3 ODAC) an early 1-0 lead before the Quakers (7-7, 3-4 ODAC) evened the game at 1-1 with 5:27 remaining in the first period.
Camilliere promptly scored in the second period to put R-MC ahead 3-1. After the Quakers scored, Muncie would again put R-MC in front by two goals before Guilford poured in six tallies to hold a 7-4 lead at the break.
Davidson registered the game's lone third period goal to put the Yellow Jackets within two scores at 7-5.
Guilford scored first in the fourth period before Muncie scored his third goal of the contest followed by senior Nick Benhoff (Phoenix, Md. / Dulaney) finding Davidson on a man-up opportunity to face a one-goal deficit at 8-7 with 9:09 to play. The Quakers scored with 2:25 remaining to take the 9-7 win.
The Yellow Jackets held a 13-7 advantage on face-offs.
Junior Brian Davies (Lynchburg, Va. / E.C. Glass) recorded 11 saves in the contest.
Randolph-Macon returns to action on Wednesday, April 20 at 7 p.m. on Day Field for an ODAC contest against Virginia Wesleyan.
