Box Score ASHLAND, Va. –Senior Ryan Davidson (Logan Township, NJ / Kingsway Regional) scored his third goal of the contest on a pass from sophomore Coleman Adams (Mechanicsville, Va. / St. Christopher's) with under a minute remaining in overtime Wednesday afternoon as the Randolph-Macon men's lacrosse team claimed a 10-9 victory over Coast Guard.
The Yellow Jackets (1-5) survived two last-minute goals by the Bears (1-2) to take the win.
Junior Brian Davies (Lynchburg, Va. / E.C. Glass) recorded a career-high 24 saves in the contest.
Seven goals were scored in the first period. The Bears held a 2-0 advantage before sophomore Miles Muncie (Midlothian, Va. / Midlothian) and Davidson scored to tie the game five minutes into the competition. Junior Tim Leavitt (Davidsonville, Md. / Archbishop Spalding) added a goal to give the Yellow Jackets a 3-2 lead. The Bears would add another score before freshman Lee Pratt (Winston-Salem, NC / Ronald Reagan) notched his fifth-goal of the season to give R-MC a 4-3 advantage at the end of the first period.
The Coast Guard scored twice in the second quarter before Pratt added two more scores to give the Yellow Jackets a 6-5 lead at halftime.
Sophomores Alex Camilliere (Huntingtown, Md. / Huntingtown) and Kyle Keepers (Roswell, Ga. / Roswell) added goals in the third period to expand R-MC's lead to three at 8-5.
Davidson notched his second goal of the contest with 10:59 remaining in the fourth period to sustain a three-goal 9-6 lead. The Coast Guard scored with 4:18 remaining to pull within two before tallying two goals in the last minute of regulation to knot the score at 9-9.
Randolph-Macon begins ODAC play on the road against Roanoke on Saturday, March 12 at 2 p.m.
