Box Score BUENA VISTA, Va.—Senior Ryan Davidson (Logan Township, NJ / Kingsway Regional) scored a season-high five times as the Randolph-Macon men's lacrosse team dropped a 15-12 decision to Southern Virginia Tuesday evening.
Sophomores Miles Muncie (Midlothian, Va. / Midlothian) and Alex Camilliere (Huntingtown, Md. / Huntingtown) added three and two goals, respectively.
The Knights (5-4) scored first before Davidson leveled the game at 1-1 with 5:32 left in the first period. SVU held a 5-1 advantage at the end of the first period.
Muncie notched a goal on a pass from Camilliere early in the second period to make it 5-2. The Knights added four straight goals before Davidson and Muncie each scored twice to keep R-MC within three goals at 9-6 with 14:46 remaining in the third period.
The Knights maintained a 10-7 lead at the end of the third stanza.
Each team added five goals in the fourth period. Davidson scored his fourth goal with 10:15 to play to bring the score to 11-8. SVU tallied a goal before the Yellow Jackets added two-straight scores capped by sophomore Coleman Adams (Mechanicsville, Va. / St. Christopher's) finding senior Nick Benhoff (Phoenix, Md. / Dulaney). Davidson tallied his fifth goal of the contest with 3:31 to play as the Knights went on to claim the 15-12 win.
Randolph-Macon returns to action at home on Saturday, March 26 at 1 p.m. on Day Field against ODAC rival Hampden-Sydney.
