ASHLAND, Va. - Senior Robert Redenz (Moseley, Va./Cosby) won the 100 Breast and junior Ealon Mann (Spartanburg, S.C./Spartanburg) finished first in the 50 Free as the Randolph-Macon men's swimming team lost 143-61 to Mary Washington on Saturday afternoon.
Redenz took the 100 Breast in 1:00.90, three one-hundredths of a second ahead of Mark Dye of UMW. Redenz was second in the 100 Fly in 53.83. He teamed with freshman Matt Howard (Fredericksburg, Va./James Monroe), junior Alex Daube (Hampton, Va./Hampton) and Mann to finish second in the 200 Free Relay in 1:31.58.
Mann won the 50 Free in 22.18. He joined junior Ivan Fadeyev (Manassas, Va./Osbourn Park), senior Josh Carter (Mechanicsville, Va./Atlee) and junior Bryan McCarthy (Chester, Va./Thomas Dale) to place second in the 200 Medley Relay.
Fadeyev finished second in the 100 Back in 56.87, just seven one-hundredths out of first. He was third in the 400 IM in 4:28.73).
Sophomore Connor Seif (Trent Woods, N.C./New Bern) took second in the 1000 Free in 11:00.09.
Howard was third in the 100 Free in 51.27.
McCarthy finished third in the 500 Free in 5:00.32.
Randolph-Macon will host St. Mary's on Friday, Nov. 4 at 5 p.m.
