Box Score ASHLAND, Va. – Seniors Kali Carroll (Earlysville, Va./Albemarle) and Mackenzie Turner (Virginia Beach, Va./Tallwood) were two of four Yellow Jackets to score as the Randolph-Macon field hockey team dominated Hood 4-0 Saturday afternoon at Day Field.
The Yellow Jackets (3-2) held a 55-3 advantage in shots and 17-2 edge in penalty corners.
Carroll snapped a scoreless tie seven minutes into the contest on a pass from sophomore Haley McMahon (Fredericksburg, Va./Riverbend). It was the fourth goal of the season for Carroll. Freshman Rachel Gist (Suffolk, Va./Kings Fork) scored in the 18th minute, her first collegiate goal, to give R-MC a 2-0 lead at halftime.
Junior Skyler Seligman (Norfolk, Va./Granby) had her first goal of the season in the 39th minute to extend the R-MC lead to 3-0. Turner capped the scoring in the 43rd minute on an assist by senior Renee Greenslade (Hamilton, Bermuda/St. Margaret's) to make it a 4-0 contest.
Junior Kaitee Nicholas (Virginia Beach, Va./Tallwood) led the Yellow Jackets with 20 shots, including eight shots on goal.
Randolph-Macon returns to action on Sunday, Sept. 13 at 2 p.m., hosting Neumann at Day Field.
