Box Score LYNCHBURG, Va. - Freshmen Coleman Adams (Mechanicsville, Va./St. Christopher's) and Miles Muncie (Midlothian, Va./Midlothian) both scored three goals to lead the Randolph-Macon men's lacrosse team won at Randolph 15-9 Saturday evening in ODAC action.
Junior Nick Benhoff (Phoenix, Md./Dulaney) won 16 of 25 faceoffs and recorded 10 ground balls for R-MC.
The Yellow Jackets (4-7, 1-2) grabbed control early, scoring the first two goals and six of the first seven to take a 6-1 lead after one period. Sophomore Ryan Davidson (Logan Township, N.J./Kingsway Regional) scored twice, while Adams and Muncie each netted one.
R-MC added to its lead in the second stanza, outscoring the Wildcats 5-3 in the second quarter to take an 11-4 halftime advantage. Adams and Muncie each added a goal in the second period.
The Yellow Jackets again outscored the Wildcats by two in the third quarter, 4-2, as R-MC assumed a 15-6 advantage. Adams and Muncie had a goal each in the third period. Randolph scored the only three goals of the final period as the game ended 15-9.
Along with Davidson, R-MC had two freshmen tally two goals: Kyle Keepers (Roswell, Ga./Roswell) and Alex Camilliere (Huntingtown, Md./Huntingtown).
R-MC held a 37-33 advantage in shots, including 14-5 in the first quarter. Muncie led with eight shots, while Adams recorded seven.
Junior Brian Davies (Lynchburg, Va./E.C. Glass) recorded five saves in 42:27 for the Yellow Jackets, while junior Thomas Smith (Richmond, Va./Benedictine) registered two saves in 17:33.
Randolph-Macon returns to action on Saturday, April 4, with a 3 p.m. home ODAC contest against Guilford at Day Field.
