Box Score ASHLAND, Va. – Freshman Miles Muncie (Midlothian, Va./Midlothian) netted four goals as the Randolph-Macon men's lacrosse team dropped its ODAC opener to Roanoke 16-9 Saturday afternoon at Day Field.
Freshman Alex Camilliere (Huntington, Md./Huntington) scored 1:02 into the game to give the Yellow Jackets (3-6, 0-1 ODAC) the early lead. The Maroons (3-2, 1-0 ODAC) scored three straight and led 3-1 after one period.
Freshman Coleman Adams (Mechanicsville, Va./St. Christopher's) and sophomore Sam Meyer (Severna Park, Md./Severna) scored in the first minute of the second quarter to knot the score at 3-3. Roanoke scored four straight to take a 7-3 advantage with six minutes left in the half. Muncie netted a goal with 2:09 remaining and junior Ryan Davidson (Logan Township, N.J./Kingsway Regional) scored twice in the final 1:30 as R-MC pulled with one at the break at 7-6.
The Maroons scored the first five goals of the third period to take a 12-6 lead. Muncie scored one in the third and added two in fourth.
Adams and junior Nick Benhoff (Phoenix, Md./Dulaney) both recorded two assists for R-MC.
Junior Brian Davies (Lynchburg, Va./E.C. Glass) registered 13 saves for the Yellow Jackets.
Kevin Jackson had five goals for the Maroons.
Randolph-Macon travels to Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday, March 21 for a 1 p.m. ODAC contest.
