Box Score ASHLAND, Va. – Sophomore Ryan Davidson (Logan Township, N.J./Kingsway Regional) and freshman Coleman Adams (Mechanicsville, Va./St. Christopher's) both scored twice in the fourth quarter as the Randolph-Macon men's lacrosse team rallied past Piedmont Saturday afternoon at Day Field.
The Yellow Jackets (1-0) led 4-2 at halftime before the Lions (1-1) scored four straight in the third quarter to take a 6-4 lead. R-MC would tallied five straight goals to take the lead for good at 9-7. Davidson scored his third goal of the match with 7:41 remaining to snap a 6-6 tie and netted his fourth score 12 seconds later to make it 8-6.
Davidson finished with four goals and two assists, while Adams registered three goals.
Junior Brian Davies (Lynchburg, Va./E.C. Glass) recorded 15 saves for the Yellow Jackets.
R-MC held a 46-37 edge on shots, including a whopping 18-4 advantage in the fourth quarter. The Yellow Jackets also owned a 44-32 advantage on ground balls, including 19-4 in the final period.
Randolph-Macon returns to action on Wednesday, Feb. 18 at 3 p.m. at Mary Washington.
