ATLANTA, Ga.—Senior Courtney Lowers (Suffolk, Va. / Nansemond River) recorded 26 kills as the Randolph-Macon women's volleyball team defeated Millsaps 3-1 Saturday afternoon at the Emory Invitational.

The Yellow Jackets won the first set 25-23 before dropping the second set 25-23 to Millsaps (14-15). R-MC won the third set 25-17 and claimed the victory with a 25-23 score in the fourth set.

R-MC held a slight 7-5 advantage in the first set before the Majors went on a 5-0 run. R-MC regained the lead with a 6-0 spurt. Millsaps countered with an 11-2 run to hold a 21-15 advantage. The Yellow Jackets closed the set on a 10-2 run.

The Yellow Jackets opened the second set on a 10-3 run. R-MC expanded its lead to 21-11 before Millsaps used a 6-0 run to bring the score to 21-17. The Majors went on to win the set 25-23.

R-MC rebounded after dropping the previous set by opening the third set with a 16-4 advantage. The Majors responded with an 8-3 spurt. The Yellow Jackets won the third set, 25-17.

The Majors held an early 2-0 lead before the Yellow Jackets tied the score and gained the lead with a 4-1 spurt. R-MC held a five-point advantage at 15-10 and expanded its lead to six points at 22-16 before Millsaps used a 4-0 spurt to pull within two points. R-MC won the fourth set, 25-23.

Senior Katie Rossberg (Crozet, Va. / Western Albemarle) added 12 kills for R-MC.

Sophomore Erin Quinn (Morrisville, N.C. / Cardinal Gibbons) registered 25 assists and senior Riley Martin (Crozet, Va. / Western Albemarle) tallied 23 assists.

Sophomore Samantha Sallade (Newport News, Va. / Peninsula Catholic) recorded 29 digs.

R-MC tallied 25 assisted blocks in the four-set match. Sophomore Colleen Beaver (Fredericksburg, Va. / Massaponax) led R-MC with eight assisted blocks. Senior Addie Cooper (Virginia Beach, Va. / Cape Henry Collegiate), Lowers and freshman Mariah Clark (Stuarts Draft, Va. / Riverheads) and Sabrina Gomez (Virginia Beach, Va. / Kellam) each recorded four assisted blocks.

The Yellow Jackets faced Berry later in the day.
