ASHLAND, Va. – Sophomore Erin Quinn (Morrisville, N.C. / Cardinal Gibbons) registered 19 assists and senior Riley Martin (Crozet, Va. / Western Albemarle) added 12 assists as the Randolph-Macon women's volleyball team swept Guilford 3-0 Sunday morning.

Senior Courtney Lowers (Suffolk, Va. / Nansemond River) recorded eight kills and senior Addie Cooper (Virginia Beach, Va. / Cape Henry Collegiate) tallied six kills. Junior Rachel Wyatt (Virginia Beach, Va. / Princess Anne) and sophomore Rebecca McGilvery (Warrenton, Va. / Kettle Run) each added four kills.

The Yellow Jackets (17-3, 8-0 ODAC) won the first set 25-17, claimed the second set 25-12 and tallied their eighth conference victory with a 25-11 win in the third set.

R-MC opened the first set on a 5-1 run. The Quakers (5-13, 2-5 ODAC) tied the score at 6-6 and 8-8 before the Yellow Jackets went on a 6-2 spurt to hold a 14-10 advantage. Guilford came within two points at 15-13 before R-MC expanded its lead with a 10-4 run en route to a 25-17 victory.

The Yellow Jackets began the second set with a 7-0 lead before the Quakers answered with five straight points. R-MC added a 4-2 spurt to bring the score to 11-7 before closing the set on a 14-5 run.

The score was tied at 1-1 in the third set before the Yellow Jackets went on a 9-2 run to hold a 10-3 advantage. R-MC maintained a six-point advantage at 12-6 before claiming the set with a 13-5 run.

Sophomore Samantha Sallade (Newport News, Va. / Peninsula Catholic) paced R-MC with 12 digs.

Cooper led R-MC defensively with three assisted blocks. Sophomore Colleen Beaver (Fredericksburg, Va. / Massaponax) and freshman Sabrina Gomez (Virginia Beach, Va. / Kellam) registered two assisted blocks.

The Yellow Jackets return to action this afternoon (Sun., Oct. 18) at 2 p.m. against Emory and Henry.
