Box Score ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – Freshman Tyler Slayton (Mechanicsville, Va.) scored a pair of goals to help the Randolph-Macon men's soccer team record a 3-1 victory at St. Mary's Tuesday afternoon.
The Seahawks (4-4) scored 36 seconds to take the early lead. Sophomore Matt Houle (Charleston, S.C./Academic Magnet) leveled the score with a goal in the 26th minute on as assist my freshman Logan McHugh (Churchville, Md.). Slayton notched his first goal in the 32nd minute as the Yellow Jackets (2-5) took a 2-1 lead at intermission.
Slayton gave R-MC an insurance goal in the 74th minute to make the final margin 3-1.
The Yellow Jackets held a 16-9 advantage in shots. McHugh led R-MC with four shots, including two on goal.
Sophomore goalkeeper C.J. Montalbano (Charlottesville, Va./Albemarle) recorded three saves for the Yellow Jackets.
R-MC continues on the road on Friday, Sept. 26 at 7 p.m. for an ODAC contest at Roanoke.
