Virginia Wesleyan claimed an 8-1 victory over fourth-seeded
Randolph-Macon in the second round of the ODAC Championship.
The Yellow Jackets (23-11) had their five-game win streak
snapped. R-MC will stay on the field to play fourth-seeded Randolph
in an elimination game on Saturday afternoon at 3:30.
Sopko had a double in the sixth and scored the lone R-MC run in
the bottom of the fourth to cut the deficit to 3-1. The Marlins
added one in the fifth, two in the sixth and two in the seventh to
secure the win.
