HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. -- Randolph-Macon slipped to 12-6 in the conference this evening after falling 5-2 to Hampden-Sydney in ODAC baseball action.

The Yellow Jackets (19-13, 12-6) recorded their two runs in the fourth with hits from Jordan Schmeer (Richmond, VA / Benedictine) (1-for-4) and Nick Maiolo (Powhatan, VA / Powhatan) (2-for-4). Runs were credited to Maiolo (unearned) and Mitchell Keeler (Mechanicsville, VA / Atlee). The Tigers (24-13, 8-10) responded with five runs on seven hits in the next three innings and went to hold R-MC to just four additional hits, leaving nine Jackets on base.

Senior Matt Fischgrund (Gloucester, VA / Gloucester) (2-3) took home the loss, throwing 5.2 innings with five strikeouts.

The Randolph-Macon baseball team returns to Ashland Saturday, April 19 to host Guilford for their final two ODAC regular season games. First pitch is slated for 1:00pm at Hugh Stephens Field at Estes Park. R-MC will also welcome alumni, family, and friends on Saturday to celebrate the program's annual Dugout Club Day.
