Box Score ASHLAND, Va. – Junior midfielder Dan Gallucci
(Langley, VA / Langley) posted a team-high five goals with one
assist to lead Randolph-Macon past Marywood 14-13 this afternoon on
Day Field.
The Yellow Jackets (2-3) took the early edge as Jason Andrews
(Hereford, MD) recorded the first goal of the game in the first
minute of regulation. MU would respond, however, with four goals in
the first period. R-MC retaliated with four goals of their own in
the second stanza, only to fall short as the Pacers added five
extra to lead 9-5 at intermission.
In the third period, the Jackets picked up four unanswered goals
to tie the contest 9-9 with five minutes left in the quarter.
Gallucci would notch his third goal to give R-MC its second lead of
the day, and fifth unanswered goal. Joseph Edwards
made two goals in that stretch while Andrews added one.
Marywood recorded one goal in the third to go on 2-0 run to
regain the lead with 14 minutes left in regulation. Another R-MC
four goal stretch would ensue, led by Gallucci with two goals while
Edwards tallied his fourth goal next to Ryan Davidson
(Logan Township, NJ / Kingsway Regional). The Pacers responded with
two goals to fall 14-13.
Randolph-Macon controlled the offense, outshooting Marywood
48-32, winning 15-of-25 face-offs, and recording 15 more
groundballs. Goals for today were awarded to Gallucci (5), Edwards
(4), Andrews (3), and Davidson (2). Assists came from Andrews (2),
