Box Score ASHLAND, Va. – Jason Andrews
(Hereford, MD / Hereford) tallied a game-high four goals as the
Yellow Jackets (5-5, 1-2) defeated Randolph 12-3 in ODAC men's
lacrosse action this afternoon on Day Field. The victory marked
their first conference win of the season.
R-MC took the early edge with three goals in the first period by
Nolan
Clark (Annapolis, MD / St. Mary's), Andrews, and Ryan Davidson
(Logan Township, NJ / Kingsway Regional). Clark, Davidson, and Sam Mayer
(Severna Park, MD / Severna) each notched assists for the
Jackets.
R-MC would finish the first half having recorded five more goals
and the 8-1 lead going into intermission. Goals were awarded to
Davidson (unassisted), Justin Butler
(Ocean City, MD / Worcester Prep) (unassisted), Kyle Snodderly
(Reistertown, MD / Franklin) (man-up), Andrews, and Joseph Edwards
(Glen, Allen, VA / Collegiate) (unassisted). Sophomore Nick Benhoff
(Phoenix, MD / Dulaney) picked up the assist on Andrews' goal.
The Jackets would go on to notch four more goals including a
goal by senior midfielder Eric Taylor
(Burtonsville, MD / DeMatha) and keep the Wildcats to just three
goals and the 12-3 defeat. Freshman goalkeeper Bryan Davies
(Lynchburg, VA / E.C. Glass) recorded his fifth win tallying 11
saves while Thomas Smith
(Richmond, VA / Benedictine) finished the outing in goal with three
saves.
The Randolph-Macon men's lacrosse team returns to action next
Saturday April 5 as they travel to Guilford for a 1:00 pm ODAC
contest.
