Box Score ASHLAND, Va. – The Randolph-Macon baseball fell in
non-conference action as they were defeated 8-0 by York (Pa.)
College today on Hugh Stephens Field at Estes Park.
The Yellow Jackets (9-7, 5-1) fell behind early as the Spartans
(7-2) posted a three spot in the first inning on four hits.
Starting pitcher Jamie Hendrick (3-1)
would shut out YC for the next two innings before a two run, two
hit rally in the fourth would extend their lead to 5-0.
R-MC looked to its bullpen five times but the Spartans would
record three more runs in four innings to top the Jackets 8-0.
Hendrick finished the day with four strikeouts in five innings. Tim Benjamin
(Glenelg, MD / Glenelg) and Michael
Trentham (Midlothian, VA / James River) were each 2-for-4,
tallying four of the Jackets' eight hits on the day.
The Randolph-Macon baseball team travels to Hampden-Sydney this
Tuesday for a 3:30 ODAC game. The Yellow Jackets return home
Thursday March, 20 to host Mary Washington for a 3:30
non-conference matchup.
