Box Score NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Randolph-Macon
men's lacrosse team dropped to Christopher Newport this evening as
the Captains pulled off an 11-10 come-from-behind victory.
The Yellow Jackets (0-3) took the early edge as Jason Andrews
(Hereford, MD / Hereford), Ryan Davidson
(Logan Township, NJ / Kingsway Regional), Dan Gallucci
(Langley, VA / Langley), and Nick Benhoff
(Phoenix, MD / Dulaney) each recorded one goal in the first period.
Andrews' and Gallucci's goals were unassisted while Gallucci
assisted the second R-MC goal by Davidson.
CNU (2-1) was able to post three goals to lower the Jackets'
lead to one. R-MC dominated the second period by extending their
lead to 7-3 by intermission as Justin Butler
(Ocean City, MD / Worcester Prep) scored the first goal of the
stanza followed by two more from Andrews. Randolph-Macon would go
on the post three more goals in the contest; however an eight goal
surge by the Captains in the second half would give them the 11-10
win.

Edwards added one goal for the Yellow Jackets' offense in the
fourth quarter while Sam Myer (Severna Park, MD / Severna) and Kyle
Snodderly (Reistertown, MD / Franklin) each recorded an assist
on the day. Andrews finished with a game-high five goals alongside
Butler and Gallucci who picked up two and three assists
respectively.
Freshman goalkeeper Brian Davies (Lynchburg, VA / E.C. Glass)
(L, 0-3) recoded 13 saves.
The Randolph-Macon men's lacrosse team travels to Goucher
Saturday, March 1 for a 1:00 pm game. The Yellow Jackets return to
Day Field Wednesday, March 5 to host Marywood for a 2:30 pm
contest.
