ST. THOMAS, Virgin Islands—Junior Hannah Livermon (Powhatan, VA / Powhatan) scored 20 points and junior Katie Anderson (Beaverdam, VA / Patrick Henry) registered her sixth double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds as Randolph-Macon defeated Nichols 71-49 Friday morning in the St. Thomas Classic.

Livermon was named to the All-Classic Team.

Senior Sarah Parsons (Glen Allen, VA / J.R. Tucker) chipped in 14 points for the Yellow Jackets (7-2).

R-MC held a 37-32 advantage at halftime and outscored the Bison (4-5) 34-17 in the second half to claim the 71-49 victory.

The Yellow Jackets outrebounded the Bison 56-40 in the contest. Freshman Amber Lee (Rockville, VA / Patrick Henry) tallied seven rebounds while junior Lauren Vugteveen (Midlothian, VA / Amelia Academy) and senior Caroline Young (Burke, VA / Lake Braddock) added five rebounds.

Junior Khajae Hester (Virginia Beach, VA / Cape Henry Collegiate) led R-MC with six assists.

The Yellow Jackets shot 73.1% (19 of 26) from the free throw line. Hester was 9 of 10 from the charity stripe.

R-MC shot 36.4% from the floor, while Nichols shot 28.6%.

The Yellow Jackets take a break for the holidays before traveling to Gallaudet on Saturday January 3, 2015, for a 2:00 p.m. contest.
