Box Score SALEM, Va---- No. 22 Randolph-Macon College Softball fell to Shenandoah, 4-1 and was eliminated from the ODAC Softball Tournament Saturday afternoon.
The Yellow Jackets finished the year with a record of 34-9 overall and 15-5 in ODAC play. This year's squad broke the school record for single season wins and league wins and finished the regular season ranked in the NFCA Poll for the first time in program history (No. 22).
Shenandoah jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the first inning. The Hornets added another run in the fifth to cap their scoring.
The Yellow Jackets scored on an RBI single by Sharese Jarvis that plated Heather Lewis in the top of the seventh, but that is as close as they would get.
Amanda Sopko led at the plate, finishing 3-for-4, while her and Christa Simon each had a stolen base.
Heather Lewis was saddled with just her fourth loss of the season after allowing four runs and striking out three. Stephanie Cameron earned the win for Shenandoah.
