Box Score ASHLAND, VA – Christopher Newport netted nine first half goals to get past Randolph-Macon 12-4 for their first win against the Jackets in program history Wednesday night.
CNU extended the lead to 10-0 39 seconds into the third quarter on a Billy Crist goal before Jason Andrews put R-MC on the board with a man up goal at the 11:23 mark.
The Yellow Jackets' Ryan Davidson tacked on another third quarter goal on a pass from Andrews before Tim Rowe notched two scores in the fourth.
The Captains were lead in scoring by Aaron Chrzaszcz and Alex Barber who scored three goals each. CNU goalie Andy McGregor made six stops on nine shots.
Rowe paced Randolph-Macon with two goals while Andrews added a goal and two assists. Robert Fox added an assist and picked up three groundballs while Davidson tallied a goal.
R-MC Men's Lacrosse returns to action Saturday, March 2nd when they host Goucher at 1:00.
