Box Score ASHLAND, VA – The Randolph-Macon College Volleyball team won its third straight match to open the season with a three-game sweep of nearby Virginia Union Tuesday evening in Ashland.
The Yellow Jackets, who are receiving votes in this week's American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top-25 Poll, got a balanced offensive effort that saw Mallory Carter lead the way with six kills on the night. Jessica Sears registered five kills, while Hillary Jessee and Tori Puryear each put away four chances on the evening.
Sophomore Bailey Troia and freshman Riley Martin combined for 34 assists on the night, with Troia leading the way with 19 helpers.
Marli Dabareiner notched 14 digs in just two games; Sears had seven stops, in addition to five digs by Martin and Addie Cooper.
Randolph-Macon will be off for eight days before return to action on September 12th when it opens ODAC play against Bridgewater at 7:00 p.m. in Ashland.
