Box Score 2 GREENSBORO, Va--- Guilford swept Randolph-Macon Saturday afternoon at McBane Field. The Quakers won game one, 6-4 and took game two, 2-1 in 11 innings. The Jackets dropped to 14-15-1 overall, 7-6 in the ODAC, while GC improved to 19-14 on the season, 7-5 in conference play.
With his second hit of the game, Jordan Walton became the 12th player in ODAC history to record 200 career hits.
R-MC jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in game one off a solo homerun to right field by Walton. Guilford responded, taking the lead after plating two runs in the fourth.
The Jackets tied the game in the sixth off an RBI single to right center by Michael Helbig. The Quakers regained the lead with two runs in the sixth and two in the seventh to take a 6-2 advantage.
Randolph-Macon plated two runs in the eighth off a two run homer by Walton, his second of the game to give the final score.
Walton paced the Jackets going 3-for-4 with two homeruns, three runs, and three RBI. Helbig added two hits and an RBI.
Jamie Hendrick took the loss for R-MC, pitching six innings, while allowing four runs while striking out four. Borja Jones-Berasaluce earned the win for the Quakers, tossing seven innings of two run ball.
R-MC scored first in game two as well, scoring in the seventh off a Matt Musser RBI single to left field.
Guilford tied the game in the bottom of the ninth and earned the victory in the 11th off an RBI single by Jordan Slate.
Jeb Weymouth and Macon Heikes led R-MC with two hits apiece.
Helbig started for the Jackets, pitching eight innings of one run ball (zero earned) while striking out four. Ryan Wood took the loss for R-MC, allowing one run in just over two innings of relief.
The Jackets return to action April 11th when they play host to Virginia Wesleyan. Game-time is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. start.
