Box Score 2 FREDERICKSBURG,Va--- Lacey Berry drove in four runs in game one to lead Randolph-Macon to an 11-4 win at Riverbend High School. The Jackets took game two by a score of 5-3 to sweep their in-state foes.
After falling behind early, R-MC (16-8) used a six run sixth inning, sparked by a two run triple by Berry to pull away from the Eagles.
Berry paced the Yellow Jackets, going 2-for-4 with a triple and four RBI in the contest. Carolyn Gilbertson also had a nice day at the plate, finshing 3-for-5 with two runs in the win.
Kelly Beard earned the win for Jackets, improving to 3-2 on the season. Beard pitched her third straight complete game, allowing just two earned runs and striking out two. Hannah Otterman took the loss for UMW, pitching 5.2 innings while allowing four runs.
In game two, R-MC used a four run fourth to jump ahead, capped by an RBI double to center field. Mary Washington in the sixth and seventh innings, but the Jackets shut the door with a run in the seventh.
Megan Shepherd led R-MC at the dish, going 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI. Laura Bauer added two hits in the win.
Kristen Dize picked up the victory for the Jackets, pitching a complete game surrendering just two runs while striking out seven.
Randolph-Macon returns to action Saturday, April 7th when it travels to DAC member Emory & Henry. Game one of the double-header is sscheduled for 12:00 p.m. start.
